......You may of noticed that i have been a bit absent for a while, this is because Mr p and I got up Tuesday morning, got in the van, chucked some essentials in the back and took off.......
......we just needed to disappear for a bit......to vanish.....to be out of reach from everyone for a while......
.....this year hasn't been a very good year for us,, obviously i don't share a lot of the crappy stuff on this space of mine as i want to keep it as bright and breezy as possible.. to keep it a positive place of creativity and fun......
......So, yes on Tuesday we took off.....................................all we knew was that we were heading west and that was about it...................................
........So were did we end up ?, were did our trip go to ?, well we drove past here..............
.....whenever we travel past
''Stonehenge'' we always have to stop and get out and just stand and stare at its beauty............its a truly remarkable place........
( The great stones seem to be brooding over their memories, like old men by the fireside whose strength has gone from them and whose minds dwell in the past ).....''Dion Fortune''.
....ok, so back in the van and off we go again....
....a quick stop off at a service station for a take away tea and then.....
......by seven thirty in the evening we arrived at.....
......here's a clue......
.....Glastonbury in Somerset.....
.....I adore Glastonbury, its a place i feel i belong,, so instead of stopping for a bite to eat we stayed a while....in fact we ended up staying a couple of days......
....we booked into a really lovely bed and breakfast, hosted by a truly lovely couple......
.....On Wednesday morning we got up nice and early and headed for the
''Tor.''......
.....at the foot of the Tor is a sanctuary which had some wonderful Tibetan prayer wheels at the entrance......
....oh look, there goes a Buddhist.....
.....OK now for the climb.....i did this climb several years ago when i was a bit fitter.....so this is gonna be a nice and slow easily paced climb this time....
( There is such magic in the first glimpse of this strange hill that none who have the eye of vision can look upon it unmoved ).....Dion Fortune.Glastonbury, Avalon of the heart.
....the top of the Tor....
( Glastonbury is a gateway to the unseen. It has been a holy place and pilgrim-way from time immemorial, and to this day it sends its ancient call into the heart of the race it guards, and still we answer to the inner voice.)
''Glastonbury, Avalon of the heart...Dion Fortune''
.....going back down........much easier.....
....the pathway leads you to the well, where everyone is silent and all you can hear is the sound of water and birds chirping.....i never want to leave this place when i am there.....
....i had to stand on the seat to try and get a good picture,, the red ribbon at the top of the photo was tied in by me as a prayer to a work colleague who is unwell.........someone else had lit a little candle.......in fact there are ribbons and paper tokens tied in the trees throughout the gardens.......
.....i love to do this....
......wild herbs grow abundantly too......
.....beautiful Echinacea.....
.....the water at the well is totally pure so you can bring a bottle and fill it up to take away.....its beautifully cool to drink and tastes really fresh....
....the water is extremely high in iron so it causes a red colouring to the channels it flows through.....its also been known as the 'Red or Blood spring'' because of this......
......after we had rested it was time for some food, and there is no place better than Glastonbury to feed a hungry Vegan......or veggie, or even a carnivore for that matter.....but the choices for me where brilliant......
......and this is one of my most favourite places to go to eat.....
...there is wonderful little courtyard behind the 'blue note cafe'.....
.....this picture of the shop under the steps with herbs outside is called
''Star child'', check out the webite....
....A disappearing act Part 2 soon....
....Pixie...x
( The grey Tor rises to heaven and the green hill dreams beside it. Between them springs the running red water of the Holy well, at their feet lies the town with its red roofs and blue peat-smoke. Around stretch the moors with their willows and water-cuts, and the banked straight streams and sluices that can only flow out into the sea at low water. It is a green land, a kindly land, and the hill of vision broods above it. )
