....Nook things.....

.....Nook thing number 1....

.....My camp fire cardigan is finally all finished.....

....and i am so pleased with it, it turned out just perfik, all snuggly and warm for winter camp fires, a nightmare to try and photograph though.........sorry, taking pictures of yourself is really difficult....

....the pattern is by Erika Knight from her simply knitting book, and knitted in lovely soft double knit Merino yarn.....

....and this too was my first attempt at attaching sleeves, and they too turned out just peachy....

.....now i have finished this project i really miss it, i neeeeeed to knit, but i must concentrate on finishing making my Christmas presents first before i embark on the next big knit....

....I have seen so many wonderful patterns on Raverly and on Pinterest i just cant seem to decide what to make.....should it be a jumper!! not sure,  should i knit it in the round!!, not sure,  should i knit that rather spiffy poncho from my new book!!, not sure........oooh the choices....

.....yes, yes, finish the pressies, but inbetween the pressie making i need something else.....
....but what i wonder....hmmmm...

.....so this now brings me to.....

.....Nook thing number 2....

....the perfect thing for inbetween projects.....the perfect thing while watching Downton.....the perfect thing for quickety quick making......and the perfect thing for Autumn evenings.....

....A new Granny blanket....

....oooh it is a wonderful feeling to be hooking a new blanket again....

....this pattern is super fast to hook, with very little in the way of ends to sew in, and can all be attached as you go...........yes sirree......perfect......xxx

.....i trawled through countless images of crocheted blankets for a new idea, and then found this pattern over at the very talented 'Cosy things', Kristen is a very inspiring lady, and her makes always amaze me.....

....so more of the Granny blanket another time.......though i do need to give it a name, as i always give my blankets names.........so this one will be, ( and i have no idea why ).......'The wind in the Willows blanket'.

.....and now last but not least, and this one has got me all excited....

....Nook thing number three....

....A new book....

....An oh so beautiful, pretty book....

.....this book is filled to the seams with the most gorgeous little projects.....

....completely in love with the mushrooms....

....the cutest snail....oooooooh....

.....squeal....

.....Sweet peas, my favourite.....

.....bugs, bugs, bugs......but cuddly and cute, not stingy and slimy....

.....i had a little go at the sweet pea while i was waiting for the Internet to load.....i think i may have to make a million of these.....

......So there you have it my friends, some nook things to share with you, i am now going to go and begin preparing the veg for our chunky stew , and then go and close up tight all the windows and prepare for the forecasted hurricane that's heading this way tonight, i hope that it wont cause too much damage across the country, and that every one is safe, take care everyone, hugs, hugs....

....The wood Nymph scarf tutorial.....

.....hello dear friends.....

....Hope you are all well....

.....So i have put together a tutorial for my 'wood Nymph' scarf, now i have never ever ever done this before so if it doesn't make any sense then do let me know as i will do my best to rectify any weird bits where i can....

.....So the first thing is Yarn....you want chunky chunky yarn for this and a size 8 crochet hook, or even i suppose a size 10 hook if you want it a bit more loose, its one of those kinda patterns that you almost need to adjust to your own preferences.....

....If chunky chunky is out of the question then i would think if you double up an Aran weight yarn so you have two threads together to crochet with, or EVEN three threads of good ol' double knit would probably work just as well.....

* Tip *  Keep your tension looseish, if its too tight then it will all curl up.
As you make the waves it will probably twist and turn as you go along, don't worry as when you come to crochet the border you can unravel the twist as you go....

....Ok here goes....

.....First, chain 10 and make into a ring.....

chain 3 ( this is your first treble ) then 10 more into ring, ( keep your tension fairly loose ),( 11 trebles ), now you want to push them all together, like this.....

Turn work, your now coming back the other way,  chain 5 (this a treble plus a 2 chain space ), miss the first space and treble into the next treble space....like this....

....chain 2, miss next space, and treble into the next....like this....

....continue all the way along missing one and trebling in one to the end , you should now have 6 trebles.....

OK...the next bit....

.....Chain 11 and insert hook into the eighth chain......like this.....and secure....so now you have a new ring started....

.....chain 3.....( again this is your first treble of the next wave ).....and then chain another 10 into ring....

.....Now basically you just keep on crocheting along until you have 12 waves made, or more if you want, it depends how long you want the scarf to be.....

....Ok so now you have your waves all made  ( just pretend that i have 12 here, i just made three to show you how its done )....

....no at the end chain 2, this is your turning chain and double crochet  ( or half treble ),all the way along the top of the waves.....now when you get to weird bits, you will have to improvise a little.....there is a weird bit here for instance so i am just going to make it work.....like this.....

....i know this is a bit difficult to see, but crochet is very forgiving and in a scarf like this you can improvise and make it work.....a little bit of artistic licence never hurt anyone.....

....and you can see here that it works just fine.....

.....When you have reached the end of line, turn your scarf, chain 2 and then come all the way back the other way in double ( or htr ), and then turn once more at the other end and repeat then tie of......and hopefully your 'Wood Nymph' scarf is all made......TAH DAAAH......

.....Happy hooking dearys, and do let me know your thoughts on this tutorial, and of course i want to see your 'Wood Nymphs' when they are finished.....

.....The wood Nymph scarf.....

.....I have designed a scarf fit for a Wood Nymph.....

.....all Wood Nymphs like a scarf, especially a real wool snuggly one.....

......I have used extra chunky yarn for this crocheted scarf, with a size 8 hook, and have made lots of scallop shaped waves, edged with a nice thick border.....

.....here's a close up of the waves....

.....now the question is.......do i do a tutorial, or do i not?.....am i able to explain this rather fiddly, made it up as i went along tutorial or am i not?.....

......I will have to see if i can write this out somehow.....

.....let me know your thoughts....

.....also.....i am liking my hair at the moment in these little buns.....

.....Pixie hugs to you all my dears....
