....Too excited to wait....

.....just had to share this with you all now.....

.....a book that i pre-ordered way way back in April, is now out in the shops and my copy turned up today......OMG you have no idea how happy i am, i think i grinned from ear to ear when i tore open the packet.....

....i am just going to be knitting non stop....

....Stephanie Dosen is my most favourite knitty designer, every time a new pattern comes out i buy it straight away.....

....oh wow, this scarf is to die for....

......there are even FAIRY WINGS.....yaaaaaay.....

....i cant wait to get started, but i shall be good, i shall finish my cardigan first, which i am currently knitting the second sleeve, so not much further now.....i just have the trickiest bit left to do and that's to put the whole thing together...........gulp!......

.....and i think seeing as i am so excited today, i shall share with you a little knit that i did back in the early summer......

......

.....some winter wristies with duplicate stitched Robin and nest....

....these are super easy to do, there isn't any shaping just rib at the start then knit the rest in stocking stitch then rib at the end, then all you need to do is when you stitch up the side leave a gap for your thumbs.........easy peasy squeezy......if you would like a more in depth explanation on how to make these just drop me a line and i will email you back with the details.....
.....the little Robin and nest pattern is a Tiny owl knits design, though i have changed it slightly....

......huggy hugs Pixie.....

....The wanderers return.....

....we have returned from our little escape, and had a most wonderful few days....(actually we have been back nearly a week but its taken this long for me to get any time to sit down and do some blogging)......but anyway....

.... here is where we rested a while....

....a most beautiful country estate in South east Sussex....

....completely surrounded by country side for as far as the eye could see, not a sound of anything human, just birds.....

...and a big lake, there was a little boat moored up if you fancied an adventure down stream....

....there was a marquise sitting quietly ready for a wedding reception, thankfully not taking place till next week , so all remained quiet......phew!...

.....we spent a wonderful full day wandering round the little town of Lewis, they are so lucky here, you can be in the town one minute and then if you no longer want to be it would take probably no more than ten minutes walk to be out in rich countryside again, how lovely.....the whole town is surrounded by hills and fields....

....they have loads and loads of nic nak shops and antique shops to wander round...

....i do love a rummage in a well stocked nicky nak place....

....love love loved it in here.....an Aladdin's cave of little shops and stalls all in one building....

....i think we were in here for hours...
....so much stuff to take in...

.....and then it was most definitely time for a huge pot of tea and a rather enormous slice of cake each.....

....found a lovely little court yard tucked away that did us just right....

.....just perfect for a wee vegan like me....

.....so after our lovely day in Lewis we then headed for a place that i had always wanted to see.....

.....the most amazing 'Charlston house', unfortunately taking photos inside the house was forbidden but here is a link to the website, do go and have a look, its so inspiring inside, the whole interior of the farmhouse is full of art and its not just paintings, the walls are painted the lampshades are made and painted, the arcitrave is painted, there are hand painted screens, bath panels, and the fire places, a safe haven for authors and artists around the second world war, and a frequent home to Virginia wolfe, even Matisse visited here....

.....there were many eerie looking statues in the garden too....

......a much needed break for both of us, we walked the famous lanes of Brighton as well, and scoured the antique shops in the old Hastings, and when we returned home we had one day of then four of us piled into a car and headed for Wembley stadium to see 'Pink Floyd the wall, Roger waters.....

.....Amazing.....

....unfortunatly i have put the wrong film on here for you to see a bit of footage, and now i cant seem to remove it, it wont even let me change it to another.....never mind......it was incredible, i would just like to off shared a bit of it with you.....

.....so there you go, our mini break away, sorry for the lack of pictures as well, you know how it is, time just runs away with you when you are having fun....

.....will be back hopefully Sunday with a bit of crafting to show you....
....take care my lovelies...

....When i am feeling a little lost....

....which seems to be how i am feeling a lot at the moment....

....a bit lost....

.....and i cant seem to settle on one thing....

....and feel all a dither....

.... i head for the woods....my sanctuary.....
.....though heading for the woods these days seem to have larger gaps between visits, so my inner lostness is greater....

....i wished i lived in the woods....

....i could move in next door to the fairy castle....

....I'm sure they wouldn't mind....

.....as a job i could care for the land, and talk herbology with the horses....

.....i would grow my own food and chop my own logs....

....and sit and listen to the sounds of the wild places...

.....my lostness has made me quiet....

....anyone else out there feeling lost and quiet....

.....i am of wild places, and my inner Fae is yearning for open spaces....

....I can feel a wandering coming on....

....where shall i go?....

....open spaces.....
