....Bix and a blanket.....

......There is an ongoing battle between myself and a certain ginger cat that always seems to end with him getting his own way..............i had great plans for my winter blanket........i had dreams of being snuggled up underneath it on cold winter nights whilst knitting and drinking endless mugs of tea or tucked up underneath it on my bed................................but no................................Bix got in there first and there is no budging him, he has very kindly covered it in an unmovable amount of ginger cat hair, and has pulled numerous threads in it,...........and all i want to do is finish the thing.................................but no.

....so much for that work in progress then....

....A Castle and some upcycled tweed.....

......It was such a glorious day today Mr Pixie and I poked our fingers up at the pile of washing and cleaning and decided to say ''pah'' to it all and go for a little trip to a castle.......it was just what we needed.......some fresh air, some beautiful gardens and the last resting place of the Duke of Wellington...........................................oh yes, and some tweed.....

.....Don't you just love castles.........i do.....

.....The gardens were really stunning and seemed to be never ending we were wandering through them for ages, i wanted to take some pictures inside the castle but i wasn't aloud too.

....OK.... that's enough of the castle,  now for my explanation regarding the upcycled tweed.
.....In one of my country living magazines there is a jacket that i just desperately wanted, it summed me up perfectly,  and it was a 'Cabbages and roses' jacket and this particular one cost the very over priced sum of £495..........they even said in the magazine that it was a' recycled jacket with added patches and buttons'.....well......i decided that the only way to have a jacket like this one was to hunt one down myself..............................so i did................

'Cabbages and roses...vintage tweed recycled jacket....£495'

......Pixies recycled vintage tweed jacket........£35

......Added patches and recycled buttons........and i just love it..............and people have stopped me and asked me where i got it from..............but I'm not saying.....................

......I wish i could say that this was my back garden, but i think the castle might give it away.....

.....Round and around......

.....The heat has finally left us and Autumn has taken a grasp so it was away with the uninspiring summer wear and out with the woolie winter wear...boots, scarves, jumpers, chunky tights and thick over the knee socks.....brilliant..........
.....Plus also, my knitting needles have been clicking away at a new Autumnal project..............remember this from a couple of posts ago..........................

.....well now its like this.....about a quarter of the way through.....

....its called ''Ships and seaside''....
.....all done on a circular needle, so i am just going round and around.....
.....and the most bestest bit is this lovely cowl pattern was designed by the magical 'Tiny owl knits'
i have bought a few patterns from this lovely lady.....i have her CD too.....so everyone, i want you drop what you are doing this very moment and go to the link and feast your peepers........
.......and then when you have done that i want you all to go out and get yourself some bamboo knitting needles and start clicking with me.....
.....this is a picture from 'tiny owl knits' of the finished cowl....

.....All knitted in ''Rowan kid classic'', so super super soft and very warm and snugly.....i can't wait to finish it.
........Happy crafting....

.....100 degrees.....

......The food festival weekend was most definitely the hottest ever,.i think it was the hottest couple of days this year,.unbelievable for the start of October.......and i don't think i have seen so many people in this sea side town in all the nineteen years that i have lived here.......it was heaaaaaving with bodies.,thank goodness i only live a stones throw away and i could escape from the weight of people swamping our little town, but it was a huuuuuuge success for all the sellers at the massive fair, and look who was famous for three days.......moi.........................

..............I think my bunting looks quite at home.....and I have also heard that it attracted quite a bit of interest......so I am most pleased........perhaps i need to advertise my services to other foodie places and see if they would like some custom made crafty nook bunting................................i am a happy Pixie...

..........And just check out the beach.......

....The first of October and the beach was packed for as far as the eye could see......

........Some more piccies of the food festival......not very easy to take as most of it was just a sea of people.......

....lots and lots of people....

.....cookery demonstrations.....

.....lots of other stalls too....
