....Where have i been.....

....i have been lost wandering in the realm of yarn....
....i have sat for hours at a time, that seemed like minutes, in the slow meditive rhythm of knitting...

....at times i thought i was lost in my mind......and it was the gentle sounds of the 'woodland nighfall' that would bring me back to the moment.......knit..knit..knit....i have woven a tale into this winter woodland cardigan a tale of campfires and wood smoke, and a promise that it will keep me warm during the long winter to come.....

.....the tale so far.....

.....the back is all finished now, there have been times of stitches dropped and rows pulled out and reknitted back in, but it sits awaiting now the two side panels.....

.....one side panel is now done.....

.....and the other is nearly at its end too.....and this is the first time i have knitted button holes.....

.....the blue is actually quite a bit darker than what the photos are showing, a much darker blue in fact......

......its wonderfully soft, and every stitch has been a joy to make....

....i am working on a simple crocheted scarf to wrap myself in too for the coming Autumn...

.....I am imagining, hot soup, fingerless gloves, pumpkins, and open fires, and when i have finished this tale of knitting i shall hopefully never take it off...x

.....till next time my friends, enjoy an hour of woodland bliss to lose yourself in your chosen craft....

.....Pixie....

  2. Well done. I've just started knitting my first cardigan and I must admit the thought of buttonholes is quite daunting but I shall soldier on! I LOVE that nature scene - I think in a previous life I must have been a water sprite as I always feel drawn towards forests and streams - sadly any time we venture near Mr K brings up the Blair Witch Project and it does tend to spoil the atmosphere somewhat!
