....Amigurumi....

.... Hello all....

....and goodness, where oh where does the time go?, the weeks just seem to fly past, one minute i had months to finish making my presents for the coming celebrations and then all of a sudden i am panicking that i wont have things made in time....

....I haven't been showing you my little makes just in case some members of my family see, and then they will know what to expect Winter Solstice morning, so i shall show you after the celebrations have finished.......however  there is one little make that i can share with you right now, and this is...

.....Elsie.....

....isn't she cute....Elsie is my first attempt at Amigurumi, i have never really been drawn to having a go before, and then i saw this little doll in one of my back issues of Mollie Makes, and thought ,ok, lets have a go....and do you know,  i really really enjoyed making her, in fact i have orders at work from some of my colleagues to make some for there Grand children.....my head is full of ideas to maybe re-adapt the pattern a little, perhaps make her a little longer limbed......lots of ideas forming....

....she does have a little mouth, in case you were wondering if there is one there, it just hasn't shown up in the photo....

...i added a little bow to her hair which wasn't in the pattern, made from beautiful soft 4 ply Alpaca yarn....

....Ahhhh little Elsie, you are so cute....

....i like here curly wurly swizzly hair....

.....and here's the new yarn that i have bought, i got some intentionally for crocheting flowers and butterflies etc for using as decorations on things, and most of these patterns call for 4 ply yarn....

....yummy...

....so after i finished Elsie, i just needed to start the next one, so here it is so far....

....and no....its not an apple or a pair before you ask....
....i will show you what it is when its all finished....

.....and in between all this Amiguruming, i have still found oddments of time to make more squares for my blanket.....

.....oh i am loving this blanket so much.....

.....lots of Granny square loveliness....

.....i think this one will definatly be going on my bed when its finished....

.....cheery bye for now....

.....A day trip to my most favourite part of London....Brick lane.

.....And a stop off first at The wonderful 'Renegade fair'....

.... i was very lucky as i had a wonderful opportunity to stand and chat with 'Emma Cocker' who makes the most incredible fabric characters, do go and check her blog out 'Here'........i wanted to take them all home with me.......i think she is exhibiting at The Selvedge winter fair at the end of the month, perhaps its time for a 'me' treat again....eek.

....i loved Faye Moorhouse illustrations, i bought one of her paper mobiles which now hangs in my bedroom....

....There were so many stalls, at least a hundred crafters selling there amazing makes, i should of taken more pictures but i was too absorbed in the atmosphere and forgot....sorry, but do go and have a look at the website for the fair, there are lots of pictures there.....

....i picked up some wonderful business cards as i was wandering around, i wish i had grabbed more, there little bits of art in there own right....

....Debbie Greenaway....illustrator and print maker...

....again another lovely simple little sketch by 'Faye Moorhouse....

....Clara Francis....

 ....Lovely Emma Cockers business card....

.....and off course 'I like cats'......that goes without saying...
all things cattified....

.....after the fair we headed up the road to the huge Spittlefields Saturday craft market...

....this is really big and so so much to see...

and then a wander about, i thought i would show you these houses, i love this road in London  ( Fournier street )and a dream of mine would be to own one of these amazing homes, i love everything about them and love the colours that they are painted in.....and the window shutters, and high ceilings, in fact everything architectural about them.....

....i know Dan Cruikshank lives in one of these, not sure which though......i think i ponder this every time i walk down this road....i imagine myself knocking on his front door and him answering and inviting me in for tea and cake and showing  me into his incredible front room to listen to his calming voice as he talks about history and all the places he's been........you never know! it might happen.

.....there probably not to everyones taste, but they are very unique and also very expensive.....that's why it will always remain a dream for me....

.......

i liked this board too outside a little cafe....

....there's also a very well known Deli that is very high on my list of favourite shops......its called 'Verde and co'

....such a shame it was such a wet day, when the sun is shining the front of the Deli has flowers outside and produce....

....

....when it was time to head back to the station we stopped off at Summerset house to see a 'Stanley Spencer exhibition, and outside the front they had erected a huge ice rink....

....plus Reindeer...

.....well that's it for now friends, i am making a nest in my favourite armchair today, crocheting and taking it easy, my legs ache after yesterday....

....see you soon...
