.....I haven't picked up my crochet hook for some time, well, quite a while actually, i have been more in love my knitting needles of late, happily clickety clacking away , and then all of a sudden i had this desperate need to crochet some Grannies.......
.....one minute clicketing and then the next hooking !.....
....not sure what happened there.....i have a theory though, anyone who has a love of yarn instantaneously enrols (unknowingly) into the granny gang......you can be quietly crafting away in your favourite crafty corner in your favourite cosie armchair, and then, a small voice starts to call you.......'graaaaannyyy.....graaaannyyy'......they call to you grannies,,,,,or is this just me!....
.....so down went the needles and up went the hook and of i went on a granny excursion.....
.....and at the end i had made.....a.....
......a rather lovely 'scrummy feather squishy' cushion.....
.....and i just love it.....
....its double sided, so i made 48 granny squares in all, then added my own wavy trim....
.....the trim could probably do with a little bit of blocking, but i just got too excited about getting it finished and stuffed with a feather cushion pad...........
.....so i feel much better now, the voices have stopped in my head and i can once again resume my knitting........until the next calling...
....and once again a finished piece of work is covered in cat.....

ReplyDeleteOh Pixie I love crochet artwork covered in Cat best of all.....d x
ReplyDeleteO would love to sit on that sofa with the throws and cushions and have a cup of tea and talk about all manner of crafty things! That cushion is gorgeous, and so is the throw!
ReplyDeleteOh Jayne, that sounds divine, to sit and chat amongst a pile of cushions and throws and talk craft all day would be sublime..xx
DeleteThere is no denying the call of the granny. Your cushion is lovely!
ReplyDeleteLovely colours. I am finding it too hot to even knit!
ReplyDeleteCushy cushions..such lovely ones, and there is that adorable kitty.
ReplyDeleteWho could ask for more? Comfort and color and a purring soul by your side.
It is all good and so beautiful.
I love getting 'the call' to craft....... sometimes inspiration just appears and all else has to stop until the scratch has been itched! Your cushion was crying out to be made and voila there he is in all his beauty! Gorgeousx
ReplyDeleteAww Pixie, it's so sweet. Your colour choice is divine.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the granny hookin call for a while, but I am getting the need to start sewing again.
Kitties are so trixie, mine always tries to snuggle on my lap when I'm playing with wool.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your granny cushion, Pixie! I've only done 1 granny square project, but whenever I see something so cute, like your, I want to get back with it. I'm on a knitting, hooking, weaving spree at the moment. Knitting a sweater (something with actual sleeves!) We'll just have to see where that one goes..... Love your kitty paw! So sweet...

What a fab cushion - the colours are beautiful! I think as long as those voices stick to crafts you're okay! Jane x
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! I just love grannies!! (Love the hexagon blanket too!) What is it with cats and yarn!? If they aren't leaving hair on crocheted blankets, they're terrorizing yarn balls!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
Kate :}
Someday I hope to make some lovely granny squares like yours! Beautiful cushion!
