...I had a birthday.....well an un-birthday.....

....''whats an un-birthday''!...i hear you cry....

....an un-birthday is not the official birthday....

....i changed my birthday a few years ago as i felt that enough was enough and having a birthday a few days after Christmas was just pants.....

....yes ..pants....

....so i changed it....

....to June....a much nicer time of year, a warmer time of year, a time of year that's not near Christmas.....

....a time of year when friends and family don't mind buying you a pressie......and everyone in the family breath a sigh of relief that they dont have to think about my birthday for six months....

.....so what did i get?....

....firstly and most excitedly, Mr P bought me a brand new Yoga mat, a Gaiam yoga mat, a beautiful beautiful extra thick mat......my poor old sticky mat really has seen an awful lot of yoga over the years and has lost all its sticky and was a bit flat in places.....but now.....i have a new one..... though i do feel a bit sad for my old mat......i dont think i could throw it in the bin, but how do you re-cycle a yoga mat!......any suggestions.....anyway....

....Mr P also bought me a new Cath Kidston dress....

....a safari dress...

....for when i am next out spotting lions, and possibly tigers....

....the box set of 'Sherlock'....oh my goodness, how i love Sherlock.....i can watch them over and over.........wouldn't it be great to have a friend like Sherlock Holmes?.....well Mr Cumberbatch anyway..mmmmmm..x

....some smelly smellies...

....and also some wine, some money, a gift voucher, and a really weird looking plant which i forgot to take a picture off.......i have no idea what it is, and neither does my son as he through the tag away, ....i shall get a picture and post it up soon and hopefully one of you lovely people could tell me what on earth it is......

.....so that was my birthday....the sun shone, and i sat outside and crocheted most of the day.....
......bliss....

.....and here's a sneaky sneak peek at what i am making.....

....hmmmmm,, is that a pair of legs maybe!.....all will be revealed very soon.....

....Anyhoo,, love and hugs to you all, i hope you are all well, and the sun is hopefully shining too....
.....i am now going back to a glass of wine and to finish the last bits of my little crocheted project.....

.....see you soon...
Toodles

  3. Sounds like a lovely birthday and loads of good presents. I got a new yoga mat for Christmas last year, and still haven't thrown out the old one. Seems like it could be used for something ????

  5. Happy unbirthday to you. I know someone else who has a Christmas birthday, but celebrates in June. And when they were very young, my nephew and niece only had birthdays on a Saturday.

  8. Happy unbirthday! Fantastic idea - my birthday is on 1 December, which is just far enough from Christmas that I don't get ANY sympathy from ANYONE! Even though the world is happy to start advertising for Christmas and hanging decorations even before my birthday, grrr...so I have been known to celebrate my half-birthday on 1 June. I love all of your presents, they are wonderful! I'm jealous of the Gaiam yoga mat, it is gorgeous...I wonder if old yoga mats could be cut and used as little sitting squares in the garden? Hmmm...Chrissie x

  9. CK do some lovely dresses and the safari one is so summery. Love the idea of a birthday in June, mine is the middle of January and theres nothing in the shops except leftover xmas bits and the weather is usually pants so I might just pinch your idea and have a June birthday myself next year. Happy June birthday, x

  11. Happy Birthday!! I am glad that you had such lovely presents and such a nice time. I think that your idea of moving it is a great one and much more enjoyable for everyone no doubt. I am always so glad that I am a summer birthday so that it doesn't get mixed up with other holidays. I hope that you can work out what the plant is as it is nice to know what you are growing isn't it. xx
