....Mr Finch.....

.....Hello dear friends.....

.....I am so excited that i needed to share this with you all.....

.....The most talented Mr Finch , the man who is pretty nifty with a needle and thread and can most certainly use a sewing machine better than i can, has very kindly shared a tutorial with us all in this months Selvedge magazine.....

.....how do you fancy making your own garden bulbs.....

...... lets begin....

.....Download the template provided.....raid your fabric stash, and away we go.....

.....

....that's the bulb shape made, now the stork...

....that was quick....

....next bit, stuff the bulb....

...attach stork...

....in the pattern that is given he recommends using some string for the rooty bits, as i don't have string i used some of my beloved Shetland yarn....

....then i wet felted it a bit to give it rooty look...

....a quick recycle of a teabag (for a bit of authentic staining)...

.....and there you have it.....

.....all made in less than thirty minutes....

.....This copy of selvedge is out now if you fancy a go, i can see me making a load of these and lining them up on my window sill in glass bulb jars....

.....Happy bulbing...

  3. Hi Pixie,
Ah, you have discovered Mister Finch too! ;-) His work is great and I love his moths. Your garden bulb is lovely.
Thanks for stopping my place and leaving a kind comment, sorry I have been away for so long from blogging.
If you want a foxy pendant, there is one left available in Etsy, (I have just listed it) I had held it back because I was going to keep the necklace for myself!
Each clay pendant is unique and I don't know when I will be making anymore foxes. I see Minerva has left a comment here and she bought the fox head necklace.
Anyway take a look and see what you think! ;-)
    Have a lovely weekend.
    Best wishes,
    Jo May. xx
