.....A little bit of shopping.....

.....Not a lot of shopping, just a little bit of shopping,, more of a therapy shop really,, its been one of those weeks and i was feeling a bit off...so a little bit of retail therapy was on the top of my list of things to do............


.....So what did i get.......

.....Well....i treated myself to a new skirt....a lovely long swishy skirt......a skirt with a very handy elasticated waist for what i call my 'fat days'   if you know what i mean...

 

 

......and then,, whilst i was daydreaming away in this rather lovely shop i spotted a rather lovely cushion.....in fact it was calling to me....buy me buy me, you know i would look splendiferous in the front room adorning the sofa.....so of course i could hardly just leave it there...so the rather lovely cushion came home with me too.....

 

 

 

....And it was right....it does look rather splendiferous in my front room.....

 

.....then i popped into the newsagents to get the new copy of Mollie makes ( which i must add has got buttons with this issue...oh joy)......simple things just please me......Anyway yes' whilst i was pondering the magazine aisle i saw this lovely new mag.....and just had to have that too.....

.....( purse now looking a bit empty ).....

 

 

 

.....A really lovely magazine.....its got Foxes ( and you know how much  i love foxes )...

 

 

.....its got stuff on herbs  ( did i ever mention that i work in a herbalists as well as a hospital ).....

 

 

.....its got vintage interiors....

 

 

....a bit about preserves....

 

 

....i wont show you anymore in case you want to get a copy.....but it is a good read...lots on gardening and trees , the seasons , traditional crafts and off course recipes.........i bet the Christmas edition will be lovely......

 

 

....Anyway friends, i hope your having a good weekend and the weather is behaving itself.....

....Wear something crafty.....

.....I don't know if you remember, but a fair few posts ago i said i was thinking about starting another blog dedicated to upcycled, remade or altered and handmade clothes, bags, shoes etc etc.....

....Well.....Ive finally done it,, its there on the side bar for you to go and take a gander at....its all still a bit 'work in progress' at the moment so not a lot to see, but its up and running which i am happy about....

.....I hoping from this i may be able to sell some of my altered items and handmade bits and bobs......and finally clear some space for some new things....
.....Also i would love to showcase anyone else's altered or remade things too, so if you have something that you have upcycled drop me a line and i shall put it on my blog, though off course i wont be able to sell it for you but i can supply a link to you if you like......

.....I am also offering a discount to followers of mine on any of my things that i show......

....A close up look at the nook.....

.....I quite like doing this....getting up close to take pictures indoors....its funny the sort of things that make good subjects......

....Plus... remember i said i would show you a finished thingy,, well the thingy turned out not be a finished thingy after all......it still needs some bits doing to it.........but if you dont mind it slightly lacking in what nots..........here it is.........

.....A scrappity scrap nook scarf......

....i embroidered a little 'crafte nook'.....

.....the little quote you cant quite see, is 'be warm'....

.....I want to stitch on some little birds and maybe a flower or two.....but i must say......i have really loved knitting this easy peasy scarf.......all done in bog standard garter stitch so lovely and simple to do........a great way to use up all those left over yarny bits, and all done whilst watching the olympics...............if you fancy a go, i cast on 25 stitches with  3.75 needles and just knitted away.........

.......its lovely and soft and i may make some to put in my little shop...........what do you think!,,,,,,,,,anyone out there fancy a 'scrappity nook scarf'.......

.....Hello my friends... and i shall start with a Huuuuge thank you to all you lovely ladies who left comments regarding the menopausal blah blah,, always good to hear from others who are dealing with all that hormonal crappity crap........though generally for me things in that department aren't too bad ( yet ),, and i hope i can keep it that way,,,,,,i have been a vegan for a few years now, and a  strict vegetarian before that for at least twenty years, so i think this helps heaps...i only drink chai or organic decaf tea, and keep the booze to an absolute minimum........not the best person to eat out with i can tell you........

....I'm always the one that ends up with just a plain salad as there is never anything that i can eat on a menu..........

.....people do try though  bless em'.......''would you like to come round tonight for some food'',, ''oh yes that would be lovely...though i am a vegan''......''no worries''..........and then we go round and they place in front of me either something smothered in cheese or oozing in butter.......haaah.......never mind, i just don't think people believe that i don't eat anything COW,,, '' what you don't eat eggs either?,,what do you eat then!?''

......''well..lots of things,''...........anyway that's enough of me waffling on about food.......

......Peri-Menopausal meltdown.....

.....Generally i have things in the hormone department fairly under control,, not too much in the overheating department to talk about,, yes i have my moments,,, that sudden fanning of the hand over the face and lots of puffing (like that helps ), and a lot of fidgeting in the seat, and letting out steam at my collar from an over perspiring body,,then followed by the usual   ''Are you having a hot flush dear'',   from a concerned looking mr P........so yes generally things are not too bad ,,(yet),, however today i had a meltdown,   i am just glad i was at home.....poor Mr P,,, hats of to him though for quickly grabbing the nearest thing to him to use as a fan.......the Sunday times supplement....

.....All the combinations of the effects of my migraine medication, lack of food, so my blood sugars where on the floor, and a hot flush all at the same time.........well,, i passed out at the table.......quite literally fainted where i was sitting....everything went very strange indeed,,,when i came round i was drenched in sweat and didnt know what day it was...........it frightened me that much that i stayed indoors for the rest of the day...........feeling decidedly sorry for myself ..............

......Oh the joys of being female......

....Creature comforts....

.....Do you remember back in March i attended a 'Julie Arkell' workshop,  and we spent the whole day making a small creature companion to take home with us.......well',  that small companion that came home with me that day has been a loyal companion indeed, so' when a small companion turns round to you and states that the warm winter attire that i had made for her was getting somewhat hot during these summer days and could she maybe have something more suitable for warmer weather, and while i was at it, possibly a pair of 'shoes' !?,,i had to oblige.........................................







................new shoes have proven a marvellous addition to getting about the nook quickly.................

.....Its good to be back, life is very slowly getting back to some sort of normality, though everything that was normal is now a different normal, if you know what i mean', so i shall just say , farewell David, my brother in law, a hero to us and now a hero to your country..sleep well.xx
