....Yes, yes, thank you everybody who left such lovely get well wishes and kind thoughts on my little 'crafte nook' space.......you are all such wonderful bloggy friends and everything that you write here means so much to me.....you always have such encouraging and kind words that always makes me feel like its worth carrying on with this little blog spot........there have been times when i have questioned ''why do i do this?'' or ''does anybody really want to listen to me waffling on about about a load of stuff about nothing?''.....but with nearly 100 followers i guess my waffling can't be all nothing............

....Regarding the icky sickiness, i did get up and go to work Monday morning, i lasted half an hour, and then Mr Pixie had to come and pick me up again and take me home.....i really didn't feel well at all,, i seem to have a crappity crap chest infection........bloody bugs.



.....Anyway............seeing as i am sitting here feeling all crappy i thought i would take this opportunity to make a little announcement.........................................

.....It took me an age to set the whole thing up, but there it is, all ready for my little ''Pixie Pancake'' dolls..........

......Several years ago, well eight to be exact, i used to make Art dolls and puppets, I'm not sure why i stopped, i think i just got caught up with other crafting delights and they got left to one side........well i have now got a new fondness for them again and shall hopefully be adding different wee ''Pixie Pancake'' dolls regularly.....in between all the crocheting and knitting and other stuff.............

.................................So, once again thank you all my lovelies for all your comments and i apologise if i may forget to reply to some of them at times.......but you all mean so much to me......................

....A quickie quick Tah dahh....

....well, my icky sicky lurgy has now turned into what feels like a chest infection, my voice is failing and i still feel under the weather........but during my icky sickiness i have managed to do something that's been bugging me for a while...................................................

...in our bedroom over the bed, the light fitting has a lovely white flowery, butterflyee, sort of lamp shade, and i really like it......however.......its all whiteness has been bothering me ....so........

......I gave it the Pixie treatment.......

....That's better...

...One man, two Guvnors and the lurgy......

.....Hi everyone....well, we went to London on Wednesday and had a really nice time....very laid back,, no rushing,, just wandering around the city enjoying mainly Portobello road and all its antique shops and nick nack shops...then from there we went to the Kings road... so i could visit my most favourite shop 'Anthropologie', and i was very good, i didn't buy anything...hows that for restraint....and then on the tube to Covent garden for dinner and to the Adelphi theatre for ''One man, two Guvnors'', which was off course absolutely brilliant, and fantastically funny....i do love a good farce,. Of course i couldnt' take any photos inside the theatre but i have found a couple on google for you to see,....I'm never too sure if you can use pictures from google images to show people stuff....so i hope its OK.......

....The play didn't finish till ten fifteen, so by the time we got home it was gone one in the morning............

.....and then.....

.....The next day, i didn't feel all that well and by the evening i was shaking all over, sweating one minute, shivering the next, every muscle hurt then this turned into a most horrid sickness bug.......

.....so today, has been spent laying on the sofa wrapped up in my blanket ( i knew that blanket would be useful ), and not moving much further than to change a ball of yarn................

.....Most definitely an early night for me.....

....Lay ins and hot baths.....

.....I have to say.. i have no way of describing to you, the absolute joy and pleasure of not having to get up at six o'clock in the morning ,, its bliss ,,in fact, i am still waking at that ridiculous time but then i am making myself go back to sleep for a couple more hours......then i get up.....make a mug of tea, run myself a lovely hot bath and then relax in the tub with a copy of Mollie makes...............deep deep bliss..........

.......And of course that added bonus of staying in my little 'crafte nook' all day making , creating ,  and finishing, ( well, attempting to finish ), countless started projects.............like this one.....................

.......You may remember back in Autumn i knitted myself a ''Ships and seaside'' snood........this one here....................................................................

 All knitted with 'Rowan kid classic' super soft yarn....well,,, after i had finished it i had a couple of balls left plus a few odd remnants of other woolie projects...............so ,,with my favourite round knitting needles i knitted a Whopping huge loose bag, then i........shoved it in the washing machine on a hot wash with an old bath towel........................................................................................................................................................
..................................................and now i have somewhere to keep my 'cotton yarn stash'....................

......TaDahhhhhh......

.....gOSh its good to finally finish one of the many half started projects....and i am quite pleased with it......seeing as i have Never felted something like this before............i think i can feel more of this to be attempted later in the year..........and its a very good way of using up spare balls of yarn.......

....Well , my woodland blanket is coming along very slowly, this is one of those projects that just keeps me simmering along when there are gaps in my day or simply just something i can keep coming back to as the mood takes me.........i do like to have an ongoing piece of work to pick up here and there, in between all the other projects that i start.................

......Before i show you where i am at with my blanket i just have to show you my ''big bag'' of absolutely scrummy yummy shetland wool that i am crocheting it in....whenever i see this bag i just want to dive into it and surround myself in all the woolly loveliness.........ahhhhhh, it just makes me smile looking at it..............................................

......anyway, enough of that nonsense..........here's the woodland blanket to date......

.....I'm not attaching these squares together yet, as i still can't decide whether to have a plain square in the centre of each block of nine.......I may even put something else in the centre of these plain ones.......I just don't know..........and you have probably noticed the added triangle on the end......these I am knitting along the outside edge of the blanket to give a sort of bunting edging to it...........

.....all I'm doing is picking up the stitches along the edge with a double pointed needle and then knitting in simple garter stitch to give it some interest......

.....this blanket i am doing slowly, i am in no rush to get this finished i just hope to have it done for next winter..................

........however.......

.......this, i am rushing through, i am just '''lovin'''' every second of this next item.....

......So.....going back to the title of 'Granny love'.......i have wanted to do a great big, squidgy, yummy, colourful gigantic granny square blanket for a long time.......and i have now got round to starting one.....( yet another project started along with about a hundred others ), but this one right now is making me just sooooo happy...........

...This one's called my Pixie blanket....

....Ohh this just ''excites'' me so much,, lots and lots of simple granny goodness.......I'm obsessed with it, every spare minute i pick it up and churn out another round.......

......I tipped out all my easy wool onto the floor about a week ago, ..'easy wool', is my term i use for my stash of Acrylic wool mix yarn....you know the easy peasy yarn that you can throw in a washing machine without any worries and that the cat can sleep on and things can be spilt on it without any worries.....you know the stuff I'm talking about.....

......do you wanna see  my easy yarn.....

.....lots and lots and lots of yarny yumminess......all the granny squares are crocheted with twelve rounds of the easy peasy yarn with a 3.5 hook.......i really want this finished for summer, so we can take it out on trips to the beach or simply wrap a small grand child up in it...........

....oh no, the snow and 'The Glow'.....

....Oh no.....the snow.....
.....Now, I  had gathered from the weather forecast that the snow we were going to get was going to be a dusting... a light fall,........well, ,when I peeped through the bedroom curtains this morning my little road was buried under about three feet of the stuff,  there were drifts built up higher than this over doorways and even down the little alley ways,....poor Bix and Molly couldn't get out of the cat flap as the snow was so far up the back door that the cat flap was completely covered...........i think we are all house bound today, Mr Pixie, me and two cats are going to stay put................anyway......................

.........Yesterday, Mr Pixie and I took a trip to  the 'The Glow', which is a new arts and crafts venue at 'Bluewater', if your not familiar with Bluewater take a look at the link, this show was on for four days and was called 'creative stitches', and a friend of mine who owns a really spiffy wool shop in my town had a slot there with the most amazing ...'Erika Knight', and she was promoting her new line of scrummy wool and you could join in with her to do some 'Extreme knitting' with her..............................
.................So against my most better judgement, and actually on this occasion I was glad that I had left my camera at home and had to rely on Mr Pixies crappity crap blurred phone....so...here's a picture of me with the most biggest  ever knitting needles on the face of the earth..................................'or.. ....am I really that small !!' hmmmm.....you decide. x




                                    'I have been called a ''borrower'' before'...many times in fact..

....not quite sure what face I'm pulling......( please don't look too closely ),  its probably one of utmost joy and glee, not only to be chatting with and knitting with Erika, but to just be surrounded by so much yarn...........and just look at the thickness of that yarn......what we did was finger knit the wool first to get these really chunky strands of yarn to work with..............bliss.

...( have you noticed my little upcycled jacket came along with me........Erika really loved it.......I was quite quite chuffed, i can tell you ).....

....Hello all......

....and happy February to everyone, and also a very warm welcome to some new followers that i seem to of gained just recently....welcome, welcome, welcome..........

....I am feeling much much better now,  the slumps seem to of lifted  and my creative mojo is back up and running.....phew.....
.....cant say i liked feeling like that at all, its just not me....but i know that next time the slumps hit,  to just go with it and make the most of the resting phase until it passes and i can start creating again.

.....So just some bits and bobs since the weekend.....
.....Firstly.....some finds...........

.....Mr Pixie and I did one of our antique shop, vintage shop, nic nak tours at the weekend and what did we come home with..............................

....Well i found this , a 'She' magazine from the year i was born...just take a look at some of the ads.....

....goodness me.....

......anyway, the next thing i found was an old knitting catalogue that i remember my mum having when i was really little, i just had to have it as the humpty dumpty pattern in it my mum actually knitted for me........i don't know what ever happened to humpty, probably got lost in one of the various house moves......

.....and then i found an original oil painting that i just new i had to have.....Ive called him 'Bertie'.....

....its quite an old painting and i need to do some investigating to see who did it and when....

.....Also...

.....I have nearly finished knitting my second pair of socks, i started these way before Christmas and then just left them on the side and sort of forgot about it....until two days ago, and i made myself pick it up again to finally finish them......

.....And now i am going to show you all a teensy weensy glimpse of something completely new and different that i have been working on.........i shall show you more very soon but for now just a tiny peek....
